You guys...I love my outdoor markets so much, it's almost painful.
How adorable is this little guy helping his maman at their goat cheese and egg stand?!
Do not judge this bread by its blackened exterior. Imagine cheese cake in bread form. That is Tourteau Fromage de Tradition. And I bought it and ate the entire thing before nightfall. Oops.
Cute little man at the stand enlightened me today about pomegranates. They're best when they're hard and heavy! Good to know...this is exactly why I love these markets and these people...

Musee de la Resistance
We went to le Musee de la Resistance (a museum about Blois' role in World War II) today and saw what our city looked like post-war.
Here's the famous bridge in town, first in 1942 and then in 2012.
Neat WWII bike.

Le Castelet
Finally tried this award winning restaurant!
Goat cheese and cucumber yogurt with gingerbread toast.
Beef hunk (?) with potatoes and carrots.
Creme brulee...never looks as good as it actually tastes.

Les Elections Francaises
The French are also in the midst of an election year, but think much shorter and less, uhm, messy than American elections.
The battle is between Sarkozy (the current President) and Francois Hollande. Monsieur Hollande gave a little campaign rally here and I came across the gathering on my walk home.

"I'm not going to be one of those people who sits around talking about what they're gonna do. I'm just going to do it. Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia. You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present." John Green
April. Already? I can't quite wrap my head around this time vortex known as France. With three weeks left of teaching, and four weeks as an official French resident, April's goal is to be as present as possible. To relish every detail, big and small.
