Italian Adventure: Roman Style Day 1

Buongiornio!  A day of interesting travel and Italian.

After a morning of shopping in Paris, we made it beautiful Roma.  We opted for a shuttle service to our hotel, which ended up getting lost, so we got the scenic welcome tour of Rome.

Totally zonked (yes, I just said that), we ventured just across the street for some Italian cooking.   We were not disappointed.  Pizza was first on our agenda.  No matter where we went for pizza, it put almost anything I’ve had in the US to shame.  (Aside from maybe Fireside Pies, of course.)

There is no certainty. There is only adventure.

Heading off on an Italian Advenure today with Pri and Emily.  Might make the occasional update while we're away, but as usual, you can expect a play by play upon my return.

Plans include eating pizza.  Eating pasta.  Eating gelato.  (Thanks Briehn for the itinerary!)

And of course, speaking Italian comme ca:

See you on the 2nd, mes amis!
Bisous!!

Things I will miss seeing everyday in Blois:

Sunday, April 22

"I swear to you, there are divine things more beautiful than words can tell." Walt Whitman

What a weekend!  Freddie popped over to Blois and we had a delicious Au Revoir Brunch at Douce Heure.

As I was dropping Mr. Akers off at the train station, Gina, my friend from the French Consulate in Houston (back in August...can you believe?!) was calling after me.  She and a friend from Baton Rouge (Natalie, who is a Tri Delt, too!) were spending the afternoon in Blois, quelle coincidence!

Here we are at the Blois Chateau...I finallyyy saw it.

What a day!

C'est Fini!!

I'm not entirely certain how or when this happened, but it did.  My seven month English teaching contract is officially over.

Unbelievable.  And a cause for celebration at the best restaurant in Blois, L'Orangerie.  Talk about fine dining.  Mmm!

Foie Gras, baby.  Deeelish!

Sauvage something something, aka Sea Bass.

Chocolate Crack Dessert with Ice Cream (not official title)

Also, had to say "Au revoir" to Rich tonight.  Sad, sad times!!

"Largsituvluh!" Daddy, speaking...French?

You know how much I love Paris.  But Paris with my faj...unbelievably fabulous.

And of course, Daddy loves his steak...nothing like filet in the land of the French.

Wahhh missing Daddy already!
