"Au revoir" is a really beautiful expression. Like most, I thought it simply meant, "goodbye." And while it is used to express farewell, the literal French translation means "to the seeing again." It's a nice sentiment, to never say a definitive "goodbye," but a more eloquent "until our paths cross again."
Le sigh. The French language.
Today was probably the last day (for now!) that I am going to see the Lorient Family. They became my family here. Elise, the oldest daughter taught me how to make my first French meal...remember the Salmon and Cheese Croissants?! Laure, the maman and Eric, the papa were always looking out for me and Pri. Baptiste, always mocking my accent...reminds me of my own little brother, and finally little Amaury who is as crazy as yours truly, was always singing LMFAO songs.
Au revoir la famille Lorient!
(Moi, Laure, Elise, Baptiste, Amaury et Eric)
